Older Pennsylvanians, people with disabilities and their families can find services and support in their community through Pennsylvania Link to Aging and Disability Resources (PA Link). Public input is wanted on a plan to redesign and improve PA Link. The plan calls for developing performance metrics, expanding call center functionality, deploying volunteers for community engagement and more. The Pennsylvania Department of Aging will hold a listening session January 27, 2026, and the public comment period will be open until February 9, 2026. You can review the draft plan, submit comments and sign up for the listening session here.
The application period is now open for this year’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate program, which provides rebates from $380 to $1,000 to eligible older adults and people with disabilities age 18 and older. The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue is accepting applications for rebates on property taxes or rent paid in 2025. Forms and instructions are available online, and eligible Pennsylvanians are encouraged to file their applications via myPATH to ensure their rebates are processed as quickly as possible.
PA Navigateis a website that connects Pennsylvanians with social services in their communities. It now has a new feature to help community-based organizations find volunteers and to help SNAP recipients maintain their benefits. Community-based organizations can now list their volunteer opportunities on PA Navigate so that they can fill critical needs and help SNAP recipients find volunteer opportunities to meet work requirements and keep their benefits. If your organization would like to list volunteer opportunities on PA Navigate, please emailpanavigate@thecaap.org. A Community Engagement Manager will assist you to ensure your program is listed and tagged accurately so individuals can easily find your organization’s volunteer offerings.
The National Low Income Housing Coalition has released “Resources for Disaster Response, Recovery, and Resilience: A Toolkit for Advocates and Community-Based Organizations.” This comprehensive toolkit supports people before and after disasters, addressing short-term and long-term recovery, resilience, and mitigation. Disasters often lead to housing instability, homelessness, and permanent displacement, and they frequently worsen existing racial and social inequities. Learn more and download the toolkit.
