The purpose of this webinar is to equip funders, community leaders, faith-based leaders, the private sector, and government partners with information on how to maximize partnerships in preparation for natural hazards, including hurricanes, extreme heat, and wildfires.
It will include an Atlantic Hurricane Season forecast update from Colorado State University’s Tropical Cyclones, Radar, Atmospheric Modeling, and Software Team (TC-RAMS), along with insights from local leaders and partners of the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, United Way Worldwide, Operation BBQ Relief, and National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters. There will also be a special presentation from GoFundMe.
Webinar Objectives:
- Provide attendees with a briefing on the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season and considerations on preparing for extreme heat and wildfire season.
- Encourage cross-sector collaboration to prepare for disaster recovery and take a proactive approach to engaging in pre-disaster recovery planning.
- Equip attendees with the necessary information to establish a GoFundMe account at either the individual or organizational level.
